Richie chose to return home after his trip with his family, as his sister Samantha was house sitting. Richie tells Samantha that he thinks it would be wonderful to have some time alone. Samantha says that Richie is cool, but that it is her that’s preventing them being together. Richie got his wish, even though it was only for a weekend.
